I hope having a baby won’t stop me from travelling. Here are some travel tips of places I’ve visited and will be visiting … this time during my pregnancy and later with a child.

* Madrid, Spain
Although the Metro system in Madrid connects you to many areas around the city, it’s not easy with a stroller. Many metro stops just don’t have elevators and escalators so I’d suggest taking the bus or a taxi if you can.
For pregnant women who are toxoplasmosis negative, such as myself, forget about indulging in jamón ibérico. I was so frustrated during my last trip in March that I couldn’t eat it. However, almost all of the bars and restaurants in Spain offer freshly squeezed orange juice!

* Paris, France
I love Paris! It’s one of my favorite cities in the world. Like Madrid, many metro stops don’t have escalators and elevators so it won’t be easy getting from point A to B with a stroller. But I find taxis reasonably priced so I take them as much as I can … plus, you get to marvel at the beauty of the city.
For pregnant women, just be careful when eating cheese as it’s best to have pasteurized ones to avoid listeria. It’s also not so easy to find grocery stores in the center of Paris to buy a bottle of water, fruit or some snacks when you’re hungry!
